PHYSIOLOGY

This introductory Physiology course presents the principles that govern normal function across human body systems, connecting molecular and cellular processes to organ-level regulation and whole-body homeostasis. Designed for undergraduate students in health-related programs, allied health trainees, and life-science majors, the course covers cellular excitable membranes, neural and endocrine control, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal and reproductive system function, and the physiological responses to exercise and stress. Learners will engage with quantitative problem-solving, data interpretation from physiological experiments, case-based clinical correlations that link structure to function, and laboratory demonstrations or virtual simulations that reinforce core concepts. By the end of the course students can expect to explain mechanisms of regulation and adaptation, predict outcomes of common physiological perturbations, and apply physiological reasoning to basic clinical scenarios, preparing them for advanced coursework in medicine, nursing, or biomedical sciences.
